I have been playing music in a number of bands since the mid-1960’es, mainly for pleasure and enjoyment. I played rock music on an electric bass guitar when my hair was a bit longer, and during my studies to be a civil engineer in the early 1970’es I supplemented the scarce study grants by playing in a pop/dance band. When I moved to Hørsholm in 1983 I picked up an old dream of playing jazz, bought a double bass and joined a local swing/latin band. At times I also played guitar and double bass in a band based on the Irisk/Scottish folk music tradition.

An artist’s impression. This is how Thomas Palmberg imagined my appearance during my time as a musician in the 1970’es, with ‘wall-to-wall’ collars and platform shoes – a present for my 40-years birthday in 1989.

Public appearances and gigs became more scattered when my professional career built up within the offshore wind industry in the beginning of this century, with long stays in London and many commuter trips back and forth.

But now, when I reached retirement and work abroad has come to a halt, I have picked up the music again with new exiting challenges. I still practice jazz music on the double bass in a jazz trio called GentleJazz.dk

This web page gathers some of the many impressions from the scrapbook about my musical experiences over the years.
